The calculator below is based on the current prices of these items captured on the first day of the current month in Pakistan. Suffering in Silence!
The recent inflation in the prices of basic necessities of life have pushed millions of families in Pakistan into poverty. With their limited income, which has not increased along with inflation, they are unable to provide food and shelter for their family, schooling for their children and medicines for any sickness in the family. These families can not beg on the street and there is very little or almost no help from the government. In short, they are simply suffering in silence! Ilm-o-Amal has developed a poverty gap tool to measure the need of a family keeping in view their necessities at current prices. Using this tool we assess and quantify their needs. In this way we match these deserving families to one of our Social Help programs
